California Youth Think Tank

About the Program

California Youth Think Tank (CYTT) is an innovative and award-winning youth leadership training program recognized by the CA Dept. of Education as “an exceptional youth training model with potential for national impact.” CYTT selects and brings together bright and motivated students from diverse backgrounds and communities, helps them develop important skills, and inspires and prepares them to become future leaders of their communities. CYTT students have been accepted at over 60 U.S. colleges and universities and are officially recognized by the California Legislature as State Youth Ambassadors. Upon completion of their initial training, CYTT students continue their training through participation in the California Youth Ambassadors program and other programs and events sponsored by the Young Center throughout the year.

College Residence Program

Students in our College Residential Program are housed on the USC campus in a co-ed dormitory facility under adult supervision during their training. They attend daily classes and workshops, research and debate important social issues, participate in field trips and panel discussions, compete with their peers in challenging academic contests, and collaborate with other dynamic youth leaders on special projects.
